Community Members Discuss Impacts of Bogotá's Infrastructure Projects

Bogotá’s first metro line is 65% complete as of August 2025 and scheduled to open in 2028 with 16 stations over 23.9 km. Community members along the planned route note that the project could improve travel options across the city once operations begin.

Metro Line 1 and Funding Support

The World Bank approved a $530 million loan in December 2025 to support the most intensive construction phase of Metro Line 1. This funding targets completion of viaducts, stations and 23 trains for commercial operations. Road and Rail Expansions Underway
