These speeds matter now because the city’s tech scene relies on stable connections for remote work and digital services. Districts with solid fiber already attract firms that need consistent upload and download performance. Without further upgrades, rising demand from new users could strain existing capacity in high-traffic zones.

Provider Footprint in Key Neighbourhoods

Chapinero, Usaquén, Teusaquillo and La Candelaria hold the densest fiber routes. Claro Fibra lists 200 Mbps plans at roughly 79,000-95,000 COP per month. ETB offers 100 Mbps service near 65,000 COP monthly. Tigo advertises 300 Mbps packages between 85,000 and 110,000 COP. These rates appear in local digital-nomad and living-cost guides that track residential offerings.

Movistar posted the highest average download speed of 207.7 Mbps and upload of 179.0 Mbps for the period April 2024 through March 2025, per Ookla data. The same report notes Bogotá leads the country in mobile download speeds at 34.72 Mbps median. ETB and Ufinet signed an agreement to build the largest FTTH network coverage in the city, which directly targets residential expansion in the same neighbourhoods already served by the three main operators.
