Bogotá's New Restaurants and Markets Transform Dining Across Neighborhoods This July
Bogotá's restaurant openings and market options expand choices across neighborhoods this July.
How we reported this
Bogotá added 87 new eateries in the first six months of 2026, according to the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce records released last week.
The rise tracks with local diners turning to neighborhood venues as global shipping delays from events such as Typhoon Bavi in China limit certain imported ingredients at larger chains.
Northern Bogotá options
Chapinero residents head to Leo on Calle 69 for its seven-course tasting menu priced at 185,000 pesos per person that draws on produce from the Sabana de Bogotá farms. A few blocks east in Usaquén, the open-air tables at Andrés DC on Carrera 11 serve grilled meats starting at 42,000 pesos alongside live music on Friday evenings.
City tourism data from 2025 recorded 450 billion pesos spent on dining by visitors, a figure that rose 12 percent in the first quarter of this year.
Central market choices
Teusaquillo shoppers stop at the Paloquemao market on Carrera 24 for fresh arepas sold at 6,000 pesos each from the permanent stalls open daily from 6 a.m. In La Candelaria, La Puerta Falsa on Calle 11 continues to offer ajiaco bowls at 18,000 pesos, a price unchanged since the start of 2025.
Reservations open two weeks ahead at the northern spots while market counters operate without bookings through the end of July.
